Malone's Mixtape featuring Katie Boeck

Katie Boeck

If you have not heard of Katie Boeck yet, you are about to - She is on the cusp of a major breakout. Katie hails from Montana but is now based right here in Los Angeles and has a soulful yet very late ninety's storyteller vibe to her. Katie wraps her lyrics up in slow, haunting voice inflections as she shares her stories of love, loss and growing up in Montana.

For the past few years Boeck has been showcasing her incredible talents all over the globe. She has done everything from travel the world with different girl groups including countries like India and Japan to playing solo on the legendary Santa Monica boardwalk. In late 2013 she started a kickstarter project where she raised over five thousand dollars in thirty days so she could record her official debut EP.

Listen to Katie talk about song writing.

Despite the influence of her mother's 70s folk music and her rural upbringing on a farm in Montana, Katie's sound has some very strong R&B rhythm and vocals to it. She delivers a sassy yet strong point of view for her young age with lyrics like:

"I'm a wild-eyed romantic, but i'm drowning in my carelessness, and even when i'm with you, and we're dreaming our big dreams, i'm stuck somewhere between, my tow most dangerous extremes, what are we waiting for..."

You can see Katie Boeck LIVE at the The Mint here in Los Angeles California July 15th, 2014. She also is a great person to follow on soundcloud, she is always posting new music and fantastic first listens to her projects.

Trust me, become a Katie Boeck fan now, thank me later.

Encore Magazine Feature

Danielle Ursula Dewar wrote up a pretty neat interview feature for Encore magazine.

"Every time he takes the stage, the crowd is treated to a high-energy performance married with a plethora of personal stories. The formula behind his comedy is comprised of three equally important components: character work, energy and honesty. All stem from his comedic influences from childhood."
